As a fan of Chinese movies, it was while watching the famous kung fu legend ‘Once upon a time in China’ where Gloria was first introduced to concept of natural healing and the art of acupuncture. Thinking it was no more than a historical form of treatment from ancient times she had no idea that it also had the ability treat modern day illnesses in modern times.
After suffering from chronic debilitating migraines in which Gloria would normally take allopathic medicine to help relieve the pain, one day she was recommended by a colleague to try acupuncture. She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as after one treatment she felt like a heavy load just dropped from her and the pain she had been enduring for so long had practically subsided. By the following treatment session, her views on the benefits and role of Chinese medicine had changed forever, the shift was so great that she aspired to learn more.
Through her own personal journey with illnesses and relief with Chinese medicine, Gloria became inspired to follow in the path of healing and natural therapies. She first completed a Bachelor of health sciences degree at the University of Sydney but her true passion was in the arena of traditional Chinese medicine. This saw her complete a Bachelor degree of Health sciences in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Technology Sydney. At the completion of her degree, she undertook internship training at the renowned Sino-Japan Friendship hospital in Beijing China.
Gloria is also a qualified massage therapist with a Diploma of Remedial Massage from the Australian College of Massage. When you have a treatment with Gloria it is not uncommon to find her using a combination of modalities; from acupuncture, acupressure and remedial massage techniques and prescribing herbs to bring your body back to equilibrium.
